The Zug Art Society was founded in 1957 and is responsible for the operation of the Kunsthaus Zug, which has been under the direction of art historian Dr. Matthias Haldemann since 1990. The Zug Art Society determines the program, manages the staff and owns the art collection, which it looks after and continually adds to. The society is financed by public subsidies (service agreements) as well as by members, patrons, foundations and sponsors.
