E-mail correspondence between Matthias Haldemann, Urs Leimgruber and Peter Kogler

_____________________ 03.04.2024 at 15:57 Urs Leimgruber to Matthias Haldemann Dear Matthias, Will the Kogler design for the floor be set up? To make music in it, as already mentioned, would be a revelation. How can this be envisaged? In the context of the next exhibition? Let us hear from you. Heartily Urs

Dear Matthias, The designs are indeed terrific. They also make visually clear what I told you about space within a room. The improvisational music we play is based on the given energetic, acoustic and architectural conditions of a room. It manifests itself thoughtfully and uniquely in space, as its spatial sound track in the use and unveiling of its acoustic potential. Music, sounds, noises and silence evolve with its dynamics and influence each other, as each player creates additional spaces with his or her instrumental sound possibilities. The creation of spaces in space and in sound changes almost infinitely. In Kogler's designs, one can clearly see how the spaces become three-dimensional through the fractal structures, opening up to infinity, the second design with a white background of the floor makes this particularly clear. Playing a concert in the new exhibition and concert space with Kogler would be awesome. Heartily Urs

Dear Matthias, I hope you had a nice Easter. This would make the design look adapted to the floor plan. If you agree to this and the printing costs are manageable, we can send the print data and the printer can readjust everything with the natural masses. Best regards and see you soon Peter

Dear Peter, wow! I prefer the first draft. On the phone, today at 1.45 p.m.? Heartily visually confused while writing about Kiesler's painting... Matthias

P.S. On Sunday there was a concert with improvised music in "your" room with a musician from Vienna; Everyone was once again thrilled by your inspiring installation and was happy to play freely in it again!

Dear Matthias, dear Fabienne

During the performance in the exhibition, Kiesler's paintings and sculptures began to resonate. The sounds of the musicians became visually visible and audible. Through this perception, Kiesler's spaces became sounding and the spaces in the musicians' room became visual.

I felt honored to be able to sit on Kiesler's artistic chair. I felt at home and secure. A warm energy has flooded my body. Playing with the object in front of the sculpture "The Cup of Prometheus" was an intense challenge. Knowing the important work of Luis Nono's Prometheus, this encounter was an additional enrichment and extension of Kiesler's sculptural oeuvre.

Best regards, Urs

Dear Urs,

Your concert in the middle of the Kiesler exhibition was impressive. You played together for an hour at different locations in the three-storey north wing. As listeners, we were able to move in the sounds. In addition to Kiesler's sculptural environment, your sounding environment was added as a spatial extension. Geren, I would like to continue the conversation with you that I have started. My first question is: How was the experience for you as a musician? You played on Kiesler's artistic chair in front of the sculpture "The Cup of Prometheus" in the basement, right next to the spiral staircase?

Best regards, Matthias

Dear Peter, Kiesler has been opened brilliantly. A 'new pebble', according to the specialists... Now I'm planning the second exhibition. Unfortunately, we don't have as much space for the new ones as I would like because of pebbles. That's why we can't make a new room with an installation with you. I would like to put the model of kiesler in the bar, which is not needed as such now, so it is an exhibition room. Tables and chairs in the picture would be largely removed. What do you mean? The model is terrific. We could hang something else on the walls of you? Your installation was created for the exhibition "LINEA" in 2010, when we showed kiesler for the first time and everything took its course...

So much for today. Best regards, Matthias
