A subtle shift in reality as Jonas Burkhalter embraces the world and engages with it poetically. Familiar situations and objects, some of them found, others bought in DIY stores, become sculptures and installations or serve as subjects for his photography. Burkhalter creates complex systems that follow an inner logic and provide formal and thematic connections between individual elements.
The new sculptures “Sphere stack”, which are a homage to Donald Judd, who with his geometrical, horizontal and vertical “stacks” was a formative figure on the minimal art scene.
