James Turell

Nov 30, 2003–Feb 29, 2004
@Kunsthaus Zug

At the end of November 2003, the new train station in Zug will be opened with a permanent light installation by the famous American artist James Turrell (b. 1943). At dusk, colour-changing lighting moods will replace the hectic station operations and transform the building into a contemplative house of art. The major event will be complemented by an exhibition conceived by the artist at the Kunsthaus Zug. On display will be light installations, paintings, models, holograms, prints, etc. A special theme of the exhibition is the "Roden Crater", which has been expanded into an "observatory" since the 1970s with numerous chambers and corridors.
