International Museum Day 2026

May 17, 2026, 08:00–15:00

On 17 May 2026, seven museums and collections in Zug are joining forces to celebrate International Museum Day. With free admission and a varied programme of special events, this is an excellent opportunity to rediscover the region’s cultural institutions and experience the current exhibitions. A special highlight this year: a comfortable 17-seater shuttle bus will take visitors from venue to venue in comfort – making this cultural journey of discovery through Zug as enjoyable as it is inspiring.

Initiator "ICOM"

International Museum Day has been organised worldwide since 1978 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in collaboration with national committees such as its Swiss branch, ICOM Switzerland, and the Swiss Museum Association (VMS; Verband der Museen der Schweiz). Its aim is to bring museums closer to a wider public and to promote their accessibility in the long term.
